For many of us, our first introduction to sexual health education was a condom placed over a banana in a classroom. It's an image that's memorable, familiar, and almost impossible to forget. But sexual health is about so much more than bananas. It's about understanding our bodies, building healthy relationships, respecting boundaries, practising consent, embracing diversity, staying safe, and knowing where to turn when we need support.

More Than Bananas was created because one classroom demonstration isn't enough to prepare people for the real conversations life brings. Here, we go beyond the basics. We create a space where questions are welcomed, conversations are honest, and everyone deserves to feel informed, respected, and supported. Our work extends beyond sexual health. We advocate for respectful relationships, consent education, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, domestic and family violence awareness, and building safer communities through education and connection. Because education isn't just about preventing harm, it's about empowering people to make informed choices, build healthy relationships, and support one another. The banana may be where many of us started learning. But it should never be where the conversation ends.
